MAKING ROOM for TRAUMA
Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) is a holistic modality in which ketamine is used as a complement to psychotherapy to help eligible clients experience more frequent breakthroughs and sustained improvement in symptoms.

ABOUT KAP
I offer this therapeutic modality in partnership with an organization called Journey Clinical. Journey Clinical is a platform for licensed psychotherapists to incorporate science-based psychedelic therapies in their practice safely and effectively, starting with KAP. Journey Clinical’s in-house medical team takes on patient eligibility, prescriptions, and outcome monitoring, while I take on the therapy. Their collaborative care model is designed to deliver personalized treatment plans to meet your individual needs and improve long-term outcomes.
A Transformational Medicine
Ketamine’s positive effects include decreasing negative thoughts, improving neuroplasticity and building new synaptic connections for a stronger and more resilient brain. When administered under therapeutic supervision in a safe environment, ketamine can help patients create lasting change, break free from old thought patterns, and embrace new perspectives.
Why KAP?
I like to think of our minds like a ski slope with lots of different paths. Our thoughts often start on one path, and then veer off into different directions. However, when we’ve been stuck in feelings of threat and rumination, it’s easy to begin skiing down the same path repeatedly. Each time we do, we deepen the grooves in our tracks and make it harder for ourselves to change course. For those of us impacted by things like trauma and chronic stress, it’s not uncommon for our minds to get stuck skiing down well-established ruts of thinking, feeling, and behaving. Over time, you might begin to find yourself existing within what feels like an impossibly rigid and inflexible framework of being.
You can think of KAP treatment as providing your mind with a fresh coat of snow. With fresh powder, you have a lot more freedom to ski anywhere. KAP can help you find new and different paths down the mountain, taking in new terrain and sights along the way.

The most noticeable effects of ketamine last for roughly 45 minutes to 1 hour. These effects can make you feel “far from” your body, and facilitate shifts in perception that can often feel expansive in nature. Your motor and verbal abilities will be reduced, so you’ll be lying down in a comfortable position during your KAP experiences.
-
Dosing sessions for KAP are not covered by insurance and will need to be paid out-of-pocket at the time of service. However, preparation sessions and integration sessions may be covered by your insurance provider.
