HI, I’M PETE.

I work to assist adults in learning how to move through the psychological smog that accompanies complex trauma and shame.

MY METHOD

When it comes to our work together, expect to be an active participant in the process of your therapy. I do my best to avoid falling into the “talk-therapy trap” of simply talking at you for each and every session. Instead, I emphasize a collaborative approach in which you and I work together to begin the untangling process of your inner turmoil.  This is an involved, experiential process that centers on our teamwork and meeting you where you’re at. Naturally, this looks and unfolds differently for everyone. However, at the core of all of our work will be the ongoing practice of cultivating a new sense of mindful awareness, kind curiosity, and compassion towards your inner world.

HOW I WORK

Trauma-informed care: I create a foundation of safety and empowerment, allowing you to process difficult experiences with support and at your own pace.

Compassionate presence: I offer a judgment-free space where you can share openly, knowing your feelings will be met with warmth and understanding.

Emotion-focused support: I help you connect with your emotions in a gentle way, building self-awareness and inner strength.

ARE YOU READY TO MAKE A CHANGE?

Navigating the effects of trauma and shame can feel like a full-time job where you’re on-call 24/7. There’s little room for breaks, and the unpredictability of your mind feels helpless. You're ready to heal from past wounds so you can embrace the present with a new sense of clarity.

BUSINESS ASIDE

Years ago, if someone told me I would become a therapist, I’d probably laugh. Not so much because I was amused, but more so in disbelief. A disbelief influenced by- you guessed it- trauma and shame. Like many who suffer from trauma and shame, my mind worked hard to compartmentalize my feelings, to avoid my thoughts, and to numb myself from disturbing sensations.  Essentially, getting me stuck living on autopilot, where everyday felt like walking though a minefield. I share this not to try and steal the spotlight, but to set the stage for the realism and radical acceptance I bring to our work together.
